Returns and Refund Policy

At Data Scan Technologies Pty Ltd, we are committed to providing outstanding customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction. In compliance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you are entitled to a refund or replacement if the goods you purchased:

  • Are faulty through no fault of your own.
  • Are not fit for the purpose stated or made known to our sales consultant.
  • Do not match the description or sample provided.
  • Have defects that were not apparent or disclosed at the time of purchase.

Refund, Exchange, or Repair

In situations where the problem with the goods is not your fault, you may be asked to demonstrate the issue. If you do not wish to receive a refund, we can arrange an exchange or repair, as appropriate.

Returns for Standard Stock Line Products

We understand that sometimes a product may not meet your intended purpose. As a gesture of goodwill, we will accept returns of standard stock line items within 7 days of purchase under the following conditions:

  • Goods must be in full resale condition, including all original packaging, manuals, and accessories.
  • Items returned with damaged, marked, or missing packaging may be deemed unsaleable, and the return request may be denied.
  • A 20% handling/re-stocking fee will apply to approved returns.
  • Shipping or freight costs associated with the original purchase or return process will not be refunded.

Change of Mind Returns

As of 1 October 2024, we may accept returns for change of mind under specific conditions:

  • The product must be in its original, factory-sealed condition (e.g., intact seals and shrinkwrap).
  • Opened or unsealed items will not be accepted for change-of-mind returns unless you were misled by our staff or website about the product’s suitability.

Returns Not Accepted

We will not accept returns for goods that:

  • Are soiled, marked, used, or otherwise damaged.
  • Have damaged packaging.
  • Are incomplete (e.g., missing instruction manuals, keys, or accessories).

Freight Costs for Returns

Unless the return is due to an error on our part, such as incorrect advice or defective goods, freight costs for returning items will be the responsibility of the customer.

Incorrect Product Selection

If you have selected and purchased the wrong product, no returns will be accepted.

Proof of Purchase

Please retain your receipt or invoice as proof of purchase for all returns and warranty claims.
