The Challenge
This Hospital is one of the largest hospitals with over 500 beds, roughly 1200+ staff and over 500 accredited medical practitioners care for more than 45,000 inpatients annually requires Signature capture solution that scale With Modern Healthcare Compliance.
- A single hospital visit can produce multiple admission forms, consent documents, and treatment authorisations, often captured at different points in the patient journey by different staff.
- Every paper form is a place where data can be lost, misfiled, or delayed and where costs quietly add up.
- Patient information has to be accurate, secure, and retrievable for years, often under strict regulatory and privacy obligations.
- The traditional pen-and-paper process typically includes Print the document, Patient review and sign the document, A copy is given to the patient, original is scanned back, paper original is filed, Eventually, the paper record is destroyed.
Our Solution
DataScan recommended an electronic signature solution that integrates seamlessly with the hospital’s in-house system through a signature pad API. This streamlines the entire process into just a few simple steps: the digital document is prepared, reviewed with the patient, signed directly on a signature pad or tablet, and immediately filed into the patient’s digital record which eliminates the need for printing, scanning, or physical document storage. Once captured digitally, the signed document can also be shared across multiple internal systems, helping reduce manual data entry and the risk of transcription errors. Patient records become instantly searchable and accessible, improving document management, workflow efficiency, and the overall patient experience.
